Close-up of a matrix code etched into a record's runout groove
Look closer

The truth is in the runout.

Between the last track and the label sits a code the pressing plant stamped or etched by hand.

Reissues copy the sleeve perfectly. They can't copy the code etched into the runout. WaxTrack reads it.

FAQ

Questions.

How does WaxTrack tell two identical-looking pressings apart?

Reissues often copy the cover exactly, but every pressing has a matrix code stamped or hand-etched into the runout groove at the plant. WaxTrack reads that code with your iPhone camera and matches it against Discogs release data.

How is the value calculated?

From Discogs' suggested price for that exact release, adjusted for your copy's condition, and checked against the lowest current listing.

Where is my collection stored?

On your iPhone. Your scans, photos, notes and values are never sold. Syncing with Discogs is optional.

Can I take my data with me?

Yes. Export a Discogs inventory file with grades and shelf locations, or your whole catalog as CSV or JSON, at any time.
